The parish hosts the 9th Solihull (St. Augustine's) Scout Group, which welcomes youngsters in three age groups:
Beavers (6-8 years)
All of our groups meet in St. Peters School hall on Whitefields Road:
- Beavers, Friday, 18:15-19:30
We do not operate a cub pack or scout troop at present, although we have good connections with others in the local area, please contact us for details.
We are a "sponsored" group, which means that we are associated with and supported by the parish, but we are open to boys and girls from any school or faith without restrictions.
The Scout Association has a full programme of activities, and includes learning about the world around us, developing self-sufficiency and confidence in the young members through organised activities and play and simply giving an opportunity to do things that they would probably not do elsewhere. We run camps each year for all groups, and are always looking for volunteers to help at weekly meetings, regardless of whether you have children in one of the groups yourself. You might be quite surprised what the children can do as a group!
All leaders are unpaid volunteers, training is provided including first aid and safeguarding. All adults involved undergo enhanced DBS clearance on a regular basis.
